Vikings in Wales?…

A recent historic re-construction illustration commissioned by Heneb: Gwynedd Archaeology for the Castell Trefadog site on Anglesey, North Wales.

Although there isn’t much to see at the site now, it was once a heavily defended site. Occupied during a tumultuous period (between 1050 and 1150) When Viking ships were regularly crossing the Irish Sea.

The project took me to a new unexplored area of illustration for me. Merging both my Architectural Illustration experience and my childhood passion of drawing vikings and castles! So I guess I’ve gone full circle…

Who’d have thought it?
